During the rest of September, visit any one of 29 local participating Walgreen’s stores and add a red ribbon donation card to your order. All it takes is a dollar. Odds are one dollar won’t change your life, but as the dollars add up, they’ll change the lives of thousands who depend on the Desert AIDS Project for treatment, support, education, early testing and so much more.
Walgreen’s has long been a valued partner of Desert AIDS Project. Last year, they donated $15,000 from the Red Ribbon in-store promotion. They hope to substantially exceed that amount this year.
During the 2011 Palm Springs AIDS walk on October 22 at Ruth Hardy Park, Walgreen’s is presenting “The Health & Wellness Festival” from 8 am to noon. Over 70 health-related practitioners, free tests, evaluation and educational materials will be available.
Join a team for the AIDS walk or form your own team by visiting www.desertaidsproject.org/go/aidswalk. It’s sure to be a fun day that will make your body and spirit feel really good!
On a personal note; I just left the Walgreen’s location at 2475 East Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs. The manager shared with me, their goal is higher this year, they’re close, but still have a way to go. However with your generosity the goal can be met and exceeded! Come on Palm Springs, we can do it!
