Join Desert Paws on Saturday August 20th to commemorate “2011 International Homeless Animals Day”!

Get out of the heat and join fellow animal lovers of all ages this Saturday, August 20th from 5 pm to 6:30 pm, at the Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage for the:

“2011 International Homeless Animals Day sponsored through the tremendous efforts of Desert Paws who’s mission is “encourage people to become more compassionate and kind toward all animals, both domestic and wild”

The “free of charge, open to the public event”, is an opportunity to remember and commemorate millions of dogs and cats who lost their lives due to euthanasia this year because of pet overpopulation.

You’ll enjoy special readings and poetry, brief remarks from Rancho Mirage Mayor Dana Hobart and a short documentary “Take Me Home”; which shares the true story of the day a hi-kill shelter in Georgia was completely emptied.

It’s the hope of “Desert Paws” that inspiration from this event will cause each of us to think about what we can do to end pet euthanasia and animal cruelty.

Bring you family and friends to this indoor event. You can enjoy snacks and a cash bar while visiting with some adorable furry friends who’ll be on hand and available for adoption.
